On Stage

Throughout my professional career, public speaking came easy to me — I actually consider it fun. When I hear that the fear of public speaking is more powerful than the fear of death for some people, I have a hard time believing that. But that’s not because I worked hard to overcome it — quite the contrary: I’ve never felt the fear of public speaking. So it’s not an accomplishment, it’s simply luck. I made good use of that luck as the public face of the agency I helped build for a decade.

After my time in advertising, I became part of a project called ‘vollehalle‘ (the word roughly translates to ‘fullhouse’ in English). I started it with Kai Schächtele in 2017; in late 2018 Michael Bukowski and Maren Kling joined us. The multimedia / speech / poetry / show began with us showcasing inspiring solutions and remarkable people that courageously address the climate crisis. In time, it evolved to more widely focus on the ‘multi crisis’ unfolding around us. After more than 60 shows, we decided to put the project on hold in January of 2024 since we all wanted to focus on other projects.

If you think I can make a contribution with a speech or presentation at an event, don’t hesitate to reach out.
