Film

Somewhat surprisingly, my ‘film focus’ shifted to YouTube in 2025. After completing my first feature length documentary, I thought I would work on the next. But then, I began posting more frequently on YouTube (in German) — about the need for economic system change. The response has been surprising and very positive. There seems to be an audience in Germany that not only appreciates an unflinching look at the devastation that our economic system causes, but that is also willing to do something about it. Over the course of 2025, a project to develop a political organisation grew out of this. You can find my German channel here: youtube.com/@MartinOetting.

My first feature film is the documentary “Purpose”, about creating wellbeing economies. It had its premiere on June 11th 2024 at the Wellbeing Economy Forum in Iceland. I also have an experimental YouTube channel called MOPALAB which is all about hand-drawn animation. I am posting fairly irregularly there, and I am not promoting the channel.
