Between the summer of 2017 and early 2024, I was part of ‘vollehalle‘ (the word roughly translates to ‘fullhouse’ in English). I started the project with my friend Kai Schächtele; in late 2018 Michael Bukowski and Maren Kling joined us.
The multimedia / speech / poetry / show project began with us showcasing inspiring solutions and remarkable people that courageously address the climate crisis. In time, it evolved to a wider focus on the ‘multi crisis’ unfolding around us. In 2019, we went on our first German tour, with 15 gigs all over the country. After that, we developed and wrote a new show for 2020 that was slated to lead to an even bigger tour. Sadly, the Covid pandemic put a stop to that, after only three shows. In 2022, we began touring again, all the way through 2023.
After our last performance in Lübeck in January of 2024, we decided to take a little break from the project and give it some breathing space, after some 60+ gigs. Once we know when, how and if vollehalle will continue, I’ll be sure to write about it here.
Beyond vollehalle, I may experiment with other live formats in the future.
